What should I do after my brow lift?2024-12-03T12:15:10+00:00

After getting a brow lift, it’s important to follow these post-care tips to maintain and enhance the results:

  • It’s important to keep your eyebrows somewhat dry, especially in the first 24 hours and for the first few days. We do advise you to apply a damp cotton pad starting Day 2 (with distilled water) for 5-10 minutes, then blot with gauze and apply a thin layer of aftercare ointment.
  • Refrain from applying any makeup or skincare products to your brows immediately after the treatment.
  • Avoid excessive sweating for at least 48 hours.
  • Be gentle when cleansing your face, avoiding direct contact with the brow area.
  • Avoid rubbing or touching your brows excessively.
  • Brush your brows regularly in the direction recommended by your technician to maintain their desired shape.
  • Schedule regular brow touch-up appointments as advised by your technician to maintain the desired brow look.
What’s the difference between henna and tint?2024-12-03T12:12:18+00:00

Brow henna is a semi-permanent solution that lasts up to two weeks on the skin and up to four weeks on the hair. It adheres to both and has a longer processing time. Brow tint is a semi-permanent solution that lasts up to two weeks on the brow hairs and lightly stains the skin for one or two days.

Is eyebrow tinting permanent?2024-12-03T12:10:54+00:00

No, eyebrow tinting is temporary and typically lasts between 4 to 6 weeks. The longevity of the tint depends on various factors, such as individual hair growth, skin type, and aftercare. Proper maintenance and avoiding excessive scrubbing or exposure to strong chemicals can help extend the tint’s lifespan.

How do I prepare for my lash extension appointment?2024-12-03T12:09:37+00:00

There are a few  things you should do in preparation for your appointment —as well as afterward:

Before

  • Shower prior to your appointment.
  • Wear comfortable clothing. You will lie down for 60 to 90 minutes with dimmed lights and soft music as your backdrop during your eyelash application; comfortable clothes will allow you to make the most of this time to relax and be pampered.
  • Remove your contacts. Your eyes will be closed during the application of your eyelash extensions. To avoid any discomfort, it is always suggested that contacts be removed, allowing eyes to be comfortable in a natural and rested state.

After:

  • Eliminate any unnecessary contact with water or steam within the first 48 hours. This will ensure that the bond between the semi-permanent lashes and your natural lashes has enough time to set properly.
Do lash extensions damage natural lashes?2024-12-03T12:07:36+00:00

When applied correctly by an experienced and knowledgeable technician, this is not a concern. Our lash artists will know what the appropriate length and weight are to apply to ensure that your natural lashes remain healthy.

Our lash artists are well-trained and experienced in the proper technique and have knowledge of what is best for your lash health, all while achieving the look you’re looking for.

Can I wear makeup with my lash extensions?2024-12-03T12:05:39+00:00

You can most definitely wear make-up with your eyelash extensions. When selecting makeup products, it is always best to go with oil-free ones. However, remember to remove them with oil-free makeup remover and cleanse them using our Lash Me NYC foam cleanser.

How long does it take to get eyelash extensions?2024-12-03T11:46:57+00:00

When you have eyelash extensions applied by a trained technician in a salon or spa setting, the process typically takes at least 2 hours (usually 2-3, if not more) and involves a few steps:

  1. Consultation with the lash technician
  2. Preparation of natural lashes for the bonding process
  3. Selection of eyelash extensions
  4. Application of chosen lash extensions. Timing may vary depending on the lash style, as some techniques require more detailed work.
  5. Bonding and drying of application
What are the types of eyelash extensions available?2024-12-03T11:45:55+00:00

There are several types of eyelash extensions available, each offering a unique look:

  • Classic Lashes: Applied in a 1:1 ratio with one extension per natural lash, Classic lashes provide a subtle, natural boost, perfect for those seeking a refined enhancement.
  • Hybrid Lashes: A blend of Classic and Volume lashes, Hybrid lashes create a fuller look, ideal for those with thinner natural lashes or anyone wanting a slightly bolder effect.
  • Volume Lashes: Light and fluffy, Volume lashes deliver a fuller, more dramatic effect, ideal for those with sparse lashes, bald spots, or who simply want a lusher look.

Each style includes its own variations, and you can explore the full range of options on our Lash Services page.

What are lash extension refills?2024-12-03T11:43:23+00:00

During refills, we will remove some old lash extensions that are grown out and brittle and ready to come off. Your eyelash extensions weaken over time due to oil or other impurities.
After about three weeks, the bond between the natural lash and extension starts to become unstable and will be ready to come off. Therefore, 2- and 3-week refills are highly recommended to maintain and ensure the retention and life of your lash extensions.

Do I have to clean my lash extensions?2024-12-03T11:42:33+00:00

It’s advised to clean your extensions once or twice a day, especially if you use makeup products because debris can build up around the lashes just like our skin. To clean them, simply apply a small amount of lash shampoo and with a cleaning brush and carefully cleanse the area. Then gently rinse your lashes and pat them dry with a towel and brush them thoroughly.

Bonus Tip: Sometimes, in the mornings, the lashes are all tangled and messy. Try washing your lashes with water in the morning and gently brushing the top side of the extensions with a finger placed beneath the lashes to help sort it out.

What should I do to prepare for my lash lift appointment?2024-12-03T11:40:58+00:00

Here’s a quick list of ways to prepare for your lash lift at Lash Me NYC.

Prior to your appointment:

  • Remove all eye makeup
  • Remove contact lenses
  • Remove false eyelashes
  • Avoid curling your natural lashes for at least 24 hours prior to treatment
  • Stop using waterproof mascara 48 hours before your procedure since it leaves behind unwanted residue.
Will a lash lift make my lashes longer or thicker?2024-12-03T11:38:50+00:00

No. A lash lift will only lift what is naturally there. If you would like more length or fullness, we recommend eyelash extensions.

Can I get an eyelash lift and tint if I have allergies?2024-12-03T11:36:34+00:00

The dyes we use at Lash Me are safe. Typically our clients do not face allergic reactions after a lash lift or tint. But if you have any allergies or allergy sensitivities, you can call one of our locations for more information or book a free consultation before getting the service performed.
